Welcome to Villa Gallici Deciani

Dogs at Villa Gallici Deciani

Dogs are warmly welcomed at the villa. Spritz is standing on the handsome marble floor of the ballroom, a perfect example of what is known as terrazzo veneziano. These mosaic-effect floors, created by craftsmen in a seemingly infinite variety of designs, are a common feature of palaces and churches in Venice - but they are also to be seen in many country houses throughout the former Venetian dominions on the mainland.

Les Servants du Roy

Belgian Boys Scouts at Villa Gallici Deciani
for the fifth year running

For the fifth year running the Belgian Boy Scouts set up summer camp at Villa Gallici Deciani in Friuli Venezia Giulia. 60 boys from 12 to 18 years of age and their 10 team leaders are the guests of Count Luigi Deciani - and built a small village of wooden huts in the woods on the estate. They also took the opportunity to spend a day in nearby Venice with Villa Deciani's writer in residence, Robin Saikia. "I am passionately keen to encourage youth initiatives of this kind at the villa," said Count Deciani. "In an age driven increasingly by multi media and computers, it is great to see young people enjoying the countryside, working hard and enjoying companionship and cooperation in a beautiful setting." The troop of scouts enjoyed hiking in the nearby mountains, swimming in the crystal-clear River Torre - and learning new skills from each other and their team leaders.
